Indulge in a fika - a delightful Swedish custom of savoring coffee with a bun or cake between meals. Visit the cozy fika spot just a short drive away in the charming village Hälla, south of Gafsele. In Åsele, a 20 minutes drive, you can taste tunnbröd, a local delicacy - a thin, freshly-baked bread perfect with just butter or other accompaniments.

Gafsele Lappland Hostel is part of the Saga road. Nearby you will find an exceptional place called Vitterhuset. Rocks formed a theatre where an opera is held every summer. The walking path that leads you to Offerhällan, a high cliff, will amaze you. You will find an exceptional view, a BBQ place and a shelter. Åslia, not only a place to Alpine ski in wintertime but also a great place to walk your dog.

The hostel is situated on the banks of the river Ångermanälven. In the whole area are boats for hire. Fishing permits can be bought through the internet.

Take out your boat and enjoy the intens blue skies of Lapland, fish or swim.

On your way you will find many places to land your boat and have a BBQ picnic.
