Road 90
We like our guests to stay a little bit longer, but we are also the perfect place to stop on your way to somewhere else in Scandinavia. The Northcape for example.
The hostel is a 5 minutes drive away from road 90. Which is part of the Sagaroad and the cyklingroad Sverigeleden.
When you are in Gafsele on road 90 you follow the signs 'V Gafsele' and 'VANDRARHEM'.
Services and shops
Gafsele Lappland Hostel lies in the village Gafsele, on the banks of the river Ångermanälven strand, and near endless forests. The river offers opportunities for fishing, swimming and båting. The forests are a paradise for hikers, hunters, driving snowmobiles and cross country skiing. We frequently enjoy the Northern lights and magnificent blue skies.
The hostel is a former missionary school which was founded 1842. It's purpose was to improve education and live of the Sami children. When it closed in 2003 it had been a community school for quite some time. We have a permanent exposition about the schools history and stories.
There are a lot of historic buildings and sites in the environment.
